Pippa Middleton and her husband, hedge-fund billionaire James Matthews, are reportedly in the process of purchasing Bucklebury Farm Park in Berkshire for £1.5 million. The 72-acre site, located in the Pang Valley, is considered a bargain compared to local property prices, where a detached house with a garden can cost a similar amount.
The couple, who currently own a £17 million home in London, have not yet submitted planning applications to the local council. However, estate agent Knight Frank confirmed the property is under offer and noted there is 'scope for redevelopment for other uses'. The farm currently includes a 44-acre deer park, livestock, a cafe, glamping pods, and a children's play area.
Pippa's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, live nearby in a £5 million home in Bucklebury. A spokesman for the couple described the potential purchase as a 'business opportunity' for Mr Matthews, denying any immediate plans to move there. However, local speculation suggests the family may build a home on the site, with one villager noting the property was reportedly offered to the Middletons before it went on the market.
The farm has been in the Hartley-Russell family for 30 years, with current owner Rupert Hartley-Russell declining to comment on the sale. The site originally went on the market in October but was withdrawn after less than a week, fuelling rumours of a private sale.
