An estate set in one of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes has been put up for sale, offering views of Glen Affric, Glen Cannich and Glenstrathfarrar. Mauld Estate, a residential, woodland and sporting estate in the heart of the Strathglass valley, is on the market through Strutt & Parker for offers over £3.25 million.
Victorian farmhouse at the heart of the estate
The main residence, Mauld House, is a traditional early-Victorian former farmhouse that has been modernised. Built in the mid-1850s, it has two reception rooms, five bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house sits within a large garden and is served by several outbuildings offering machinery and equipment storage, log storage, and a garage workshop with a vehicle inspection pit.
Sporting and wildlife opportunities
The estate offers red deer stalking on open moorland, roe deer stalking, and trout fishing for wild brown trout on three hill lochs. Other outdoor activities available on the estate and in the surrounding area include kayaking, paddle boarding, mountain biking and wild swimming.
According to Strutt & Parker, Mauld Estate is home to a wide variety of native wildlife, including red squirrels, otters, crossbills, crested tits and black grouse. The estate also supports well-known and lesser-known flora, including fungi such as chanterelle and cep mushrooms.
Location and access
Mauld Estate is 22 miles, or about a 40-minute drive, from Inverness and approximately 12 miles from the market and resort town of Beauly. Beauly offers amenities including a delicatessen and café, a local butcher, and a train station providing access to the rest of Scotland and England.
