Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new home in the Cotswolds, thought to be worth around £12 million, has sparked major outrage among royal fans. The couple moved to the UK earlier this week, having announced their shock plans earlier this month.

King Charles was only informed of the move three days before the news was made public. The announcement has reignited criticism over Harry's repeated requests for police protection in the UK, despite having lived in the US.
Fans question security demands
Royal fans have pointed out that, since the couple can afford a high-priced home, they should be able to afford their own security. One fan wrote on X: "Sorry- but if Harry and Meghan can afford a £12 million property - they can afford their own security. It's not rocket science surely?"
Another added: "..he's just being cheap." This comment refers to the fact that, despite the move, the couple are said to be keeping hold of their multi-million-pound home in Montecito.
A third simply added: "If Prince Harry can afford to buy a £12 million mansion in the Cotswolds now that he’s living in England, then he can afford to pay for his own security." A fourth also added: "Also, if Harry can afford to pay Meghan's security for her excursions to the USA from the UK, he can afford to pay for his own security."
Children's new life in the UK
Following their move to the UK, Meghan reportedly wants to focus solely on ensuring that their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now aged seven and five, settle into their new life there. The children are also reportedly ready to start at a new school next week, with Meghan known to have previously "toured two schools" whilst the family were in the UK last month.
