Chris Milnes, 60, from Pudsey, West Yorkshire, is selling the £2.5 million Omaze house he won last June to move to Australia and be near his first grandchild. The father-of-three initially entered the Million Pound House Draw without telling his wife or children.
Milnes and his wife Jules, 56, have listed the 5,000 sqft new-build near Poole, Dorset, for £2.3 million. They spent Christmas at the property but decided to sell to retire and give their children a financial boost.
Since winning, Milnes learned he will become a grandfather; his son Ollie, 29, lives in Australia. He said: “This means we have the time and money to go spend time with our first grandchild which is absolutely wonderful.”
The house features an open-plan living room with a feature fireplace, a kitchen with a large island and banquette seating, a main bedroom suite with dressing room and spa bathroom, three additional en-suite bedrooms, a cinema room, and a rainforest garden with a hot tub.
Milnes, who grew up in a council house, plans to help his three children get on the property ladder before buying a new home in Yorkshire. He said: “Winning this house has changed all our family’s lives forever.”
