An Escape to the Country hopeful was moved to tears after discovering the price of her dream home. In Wednesday's episode of the BBC programme, presenter Sonali Shah helped a couple with their ambitious move from Warwickshire to rural Argyll and Bute.
John, a project manager, and his wife Liz, an administrator, hoped that relocating to tranquil Scotland would make every day feel like a holiday. The motorcycle enthusiasts had set aside £340,000 for a detached property with at least two bedrooms, an acre of land, and a garage for their bikes. They also wanted to be within a few hours of Glasgow Airport and prioritised a stunning view.
Sonali arranged several viewings, but one property stood out: a distinctive 1980s bungalow that fulfilled Liz's desire for character and John's practical needs. It boasted three bedrooms, a garage, a workshop space, and a sought-after view.
Overwhelmed by the property, Liz exclaimed: 'It's a lot bigger than we were expecting.' John added: 'If this isn't ten out of ten, I don't know what is.' To top it off, Sonali revealed a surprise: the property was listed at offers over £270,000, well below their budget.
Liz burst into tears of joy, prompting Sonali to say: 'She's crying. Give her a hug, I want to give her a hug.' John was in disbelief, asking: 'Wow. Are you sure you've got that right? Offers over £270,000.' Liz assured everyone: 'I've got to say yes.'
