Interior designer Elise has shared her top bathroom renovation tip on TikTok, recommending the use of epoxy grout for easier cleaning.
Why Epoxy Grout?
Elise explained that epoxy grout is a high-performance, waterproof, and chemical-resistant tile joint filler. Unlike cement-based grouts, it is resistant to mold, mildew, and bacterial growth. "If you're sick of cleaning grout lines again and again in your shower, consider using this one grout option that interior designers swear by!" she said.
Pros and Cons
Elise outlined the benefits: "In terms of the pros, epoxy grout is stain resistant, mould resistant, waterproof, and more resistant to cracking than cement grout. Because of this, interior designers love to specify it because it tends to hold up a bit longer than cement grout." However, she noted that epoxy grout can turn yellow if exposed to UV light, and it is more expensive to buy and install. She also warned that if not cleaned properly, grime can dull it, making it harder to clean.
