El Jannah founders list Sydney mansion for $11m

The founders of the El Jannah chicken dynasty, Andre and Carole Estephan, have put their sprawling Sydney mansion on the market for a reported $11 million. This is the second time in two years the couple has attempted to sell the Dural estate, which was previously listed for over $15 million in March 2024.

The multi-level dwelling boasts seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, along with horse stables, a full-size tennis court, and a private road. Set on 2.11 hectares of bushland in far north-west Sydney, over 31 km from the CBD, the property was purchased by the Estephans in 2014 for $4.6 million.

Designed with a blend of old-world luxury and modern chic, the home features a porte-cochère, a contemporary open-plan layout, four private living areas, an executive study, a cinema, and a billiards room. Additional highlights include a rumpus room spanning over 150 square metres with a wet bar and wine gallery, an alfresco terrace with a built-in kitchen, king-size bedrooms with walk-in wardrobes, a home office, a library, and a gym.

The listing comes after the couple made headlines in November when New York-based private equity firm General Atlantic acquired the El Jannah charcoal chicken chain for a reported $1 billion. The Estephans, who opened the first El Jannah store in Granville in 1998, are understood to retain a significant stake in the business and remain involved.

The brand now operates 48 stores across Australia, with plans to expand to 70 restaurants by July 1, 2026. Each week, approximately 100,000 chickens are processed through its franchise network.
