Dinner Lady Wins £3m Dream Home In Omaze Draw

A dinner lady from Birmingham has won a stunning £3 million coastal home in Cornwall through an Omaze prize draw. Rose Doyle, 73, described herself as an 'emotional wreck' upon learning she had won the five-bedroom property, which also came with £100,000 in cash. The draw raised £3.1 million for the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Rose, who spent just £10 to enter, said: 'When they confirmed the prize I was an emotional wreck! This win is life changing for us - it’s fantastic for our family’s future.' She initially thought she might have won a small holiday or a few hundred pounds, not a £3 million mansion.

The property, located near St Agnes beach, features a hot tub, panoramic countryside views, and modern architecture. It is mortgage-free with all legal fees covered. Rose, a retired sales assistant and former dinner lady, and her husband Tony, a gas engineer of 25 years, have lived in the same three-bedroom house in Birmingham for 44 years.

Tony is now considering early retirement. The couple, together for 46 years, have two children and four grandchildren, two of whom live with them. Rose's sister joked about her caravan being outdone. Rose plans to enjoy the house with family and said: 'It’s a true miracle.'
