Lanlan Yang, the 23-year-old Chinese woman at the centre of a high-profile car crash in Sydney, has pleaded not guilty to two additional charges. The charges relate to a collision in July that left a driver with serious injuries.
Yang was accused of driving a £1.5m Rolls-Royce SUV when it collided with a Mercedes driven by George Plassaras, a driver for radio host Kyle Sandilands, on New South Head Road in Rose Bay. Plassaras sustained severe injuries.
Yang had already pleaded not guilty to four charges in November, including refusing a breath analysis and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. The new charges are dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm while under the influence of alcohol, and driving with a middle-range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
At Downing Centre Local Court on Friday, Yang was excused from appearing. Her lawyer entered the not guilty pleas. The prosecutor requested six weeks to deal with the additional charges.
Last week, Yang admitted to breaching her bail conditions by failing to update her address. The matter was resolved after a bail review application by her lawyer, Michael Korn.
Yang has attracted significant media attention in Australia and China due to her lavish wealth. Her barrister previously stated that Yang arrived in Australia at age 14.
