Brit Award-winning singer Becky Hill has revealed she is prepared to delay settling down until she conquers the US music market. The 29-year-old from Bewdley, Worcestershire, said she wants to get married and have a 'real life' but will not do so until she has taken over the world.
Hill, who performed at Glastonbury and appeared on Love Island this summer, explained that breaking America is a daunting task due to the country's size. 'In the UK, everything is centred around London... We have three major radio stations... Whereas in the States, you have at least three per state,' she told Metro.co.uk.
The singer recently returned from shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Montreal, where she felt the crowds made her feel she was 'onto something'. Her headline show at The Fonda Theatre in LA eventually sold out, she said.
Looking ahead, Hill's focus for next year includes a global tour with stops in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. 'I just want to start getting out and seeing other people in different territories and connecting with people on a massive scale,' she added.
Hill performed at Hilton's Secret Socials event on the rooftop of Canopy by Hilton London City, joining a roster that has included Stormzy and Kylie Minogue. She admitted initial nerves about the secret show but was pleased that the audience knew her songs.
