Rashford Tells Bayern He Only Wants Barcelona

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has reportedly communicated to Bayern Munich that his sole focus remains on completing a permanent transfer to Barcelona. The 28-year-old spent the 2025/26 season on loan at the Catalan club, helping them secure the La Liga title and the Spanish Supercopa.

Barcelona's Purchase Option

Barcelona have a £26 million purchase option in the loan agreement with Manchester United, which must be activated by June 15. However, Spanish reports indicate the club is hesitant to pay the full amount and may seek to renegotiate the terms.

According to The Sun, Bayern Munich are prepared to match United's valuation of Rashford but are unwilling to meet his high wage demands. Meanwhile, Spanish outlet Marca claims the England international is not interested in joining Vincent Kompany's side and is ignoring calls from other clubs.

Rashford's Stance

The report states that Rashford has not responded to any approaches from Bayern, and the German champions have not made a concrete offer. It remains uncertain whether he will play for Barcelona again, but United are not planning to reintegrate him into the first team.

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has praised Rashford's performances but declined to comment on his future. After Rashford scored against Real Madrid in May, Flick said: "I'm very happy with Marcus. He has shown his quality and scored an important goal. I can't say anything about his future."

Rashford's Season at Barcelona

Rashford contributed 14 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Barcelona, playing a key role in their league and Supercopa triumphs. Speaking after clinching the title, he said: "It's really good. I come here to win. I want to win as many things as I can. This team is wonderful and will win so much in the future. To be a part of that would be special."
