Coin collectors are being urged to check their change after a TikTok user revealed six rare British coins that could be worth a fortune. The account @CoinCollectingWizard, which has over 258,000 followers, shared a video highlighting valuable designs, including the 1933 penny, which could fetch at least £200,000.
The most valuable coin on the list is the 1933 penny, described as extremely rare. According to the TikToker, anyone lucky enough to find one is guaranteed at least £200,000. Other notable coins include the 1869 penny, worth up to £5,000 in decent condition, and the 1905 half crown, with only 160,000 minted, valued between £450 and £10,000.
The video also featured the 1949 brass threepence, with a limited mintage of 464,000, recently selling for nearly £500 in fine condition. The 1925 florin, with just over a million minted, can reach over £500 when uncirculated, while the 1924 florin is worth up to £145 in uncirculated condition.
The TikToker advised viewers to look out for these coins in their collections or spare change. The video has garnered hundreds of likes and comments, with many users claiming to own some of the coins. One user asked about the value of a 1957 threepence, while another said they have over 100 coins.
