British Father's Final Moments on Dubai Yacht Before Fatal Jetski Crash
British father killed in Dubai jetski accident minutes after video

Tragic Final Moments Captured on Video

Heartbreaking footage shows a British father cuddling his newborn daughter on a yacht in Dubai just five minutes before he was killed in a fatal jetski accident. Ali Watson, 28, from Coventry, was enjoying a boat trip with his partner Charlotte Lescott and their baby daughter Soulie when tragedy struck on December 6, 2020.

The emotional video, shared by Charlotte on social media, shows the young family sharing tender moments aboard the yacht. Ali can be seen kissing his daughter's cheek as she leans into him, placing her tiny hands on his chest. Charlotte captioned the footage: 'They don't know it yet but five minutes later he will ride a jetski and a terrible accident will take his life.'

The Fatal Collision and Its Aftermath

Just moments after the video was taken, Ali hopped on a jetski for what should have been an enjoyable activity. Tragically, another jetski being ridden at high speed by an instructor carrying a female passenger collided with him. The impact threw Ali into the air and he landed face down in the water, dying from blunt force chest wounds at the scene.

Charlotte, who was holding their baby on the boat, witnessed the entire accident. 'I watched the accident happen; I saw it all,' she recalled. 'I let out the most horrifying scream.' Her final words to Ali had been: 'Be safe, love you.'

The family had only recently moved to Dubai from the UK in September 2020, seeking a better quality of life. Ali had been working as a marketing manager in the UAE and had started his own business in 2020.

Financial Struggles and Important Lessons

In another devastating blow, Charlotte discovered after Ali's death that he had cancelled their life insurance policy. She also couldn't access their shipped belongings because everything was in his name. 'Me and my baby had literally nothing,' she said. 'When you lose someone unexpectedly, life stops. You still have to pay rent or mortgage and bills.'

Charlotte now advocates for financial awareness among couples, urging people not to leave financial matters solely to their partners. 'You need to be aware of everything financially in the household,' she emphasised. 'I don't tolerate anything now, don't just leave it to your partner.'

An inquest at Exeter Coroner's Court heard that suspended jail sentences and fines were handed out to those responsible for the crash. Assistant Devon coroner Luisa Nicholson recorded a conclusion of accidental death.

The couple had met in 2018 when Ali messaged Charlotte after she bought trainers from him on Depop. They moved in together three months later and welcomed their daughter Soulie on July 29, 2020. Charlotte now keeps Ali's memory alive for their daughter, saying: 'Soulie is very aware of her dad. She's dreams of him. She's got his eyes.'
