The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that a significant number of people, particularly pensioners, are failing to claim benefits they are rightfully entitled to, including the vital Cold Weather Payment and Pension Credit.

The unclaimed support includes several key benefits:
- Cold Weather Payments: A £25 payment for each seven-day period of very cold weather (zero degrees or below) between November and March.
