Premium Bonds August draw delayed: two £1m prizes

The August 2026 Premium Bonds draw has been delayed because August 1 falls on a Saturday. Draws normally take place on working days, so the winners will now be revealed early next week.

Two £1million prizes are expected in the August draw, which is held by more than 20 million people in the UK. Premium Bonds are an investment product from NS&I, the Government-owned savings provider.

When will winners be announced?

Those who win the £1million top prizes are normally informed in person, with the news expected to be shared with them on August 3.

For smaller prizes, NS&I updates its prize checker on the day after the first working day of the month. That means holders can check whether they have won from August 4 by entering the holder's number into the NS&I prize checker.

How Premium Bonds work

The minimum investment is £25 and the maximum is £50,000. Each £1 has roughly a 22,000-to-one chance of winning, with prizes ranging from £25 up to £1million.

Prizes are selected by a random digital generator called Ernie, short for Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment. More than £127billion has been banked through the Government-backed savings scheme.
