A family-run car garage that had been serving the local community since 2002 has fallen into liquidation. Mike O'Sullivan Garage Services Limited appointed liquidators on July 21, with the notice published in the London Gazette on July 27.
A notice confirmed that the vehicle repair and MOT services firm was being wound up voluntarily. Darren Brookes of Milner Boardman & Partners has been appointed as the liquidator overseeing the company. At this early stage, there is no information on how the development will affect staff or potential job cuts.
Company background and community impact
According to Companies House, the business was incorporated in October 2002, meaning it was approaching 24 years of operation. The garage had built a strong reputation locally, with numerous positive reviews from customers.
Mia, a previous customer, said: "Friendly, professional, trustworthy, and great prices. Mike and his team fitted a new exhaust for my car and couldn't be happier with the service."
Another customer, Andrew, explained: "The thing that impressed me the most was Mike calling me and explaining everything in detail before asking if I wanted to go ahead with the repairs. Both jobs completed within a few hours and at a very reasonable labour rate too. Highly recommended."
A further customer added: "Superb service from a great professional garage! Family run and are super friendly and able to give the best possible service to your car. Wouldn't go to anybody else now."
Gary, another motorist, posted: "Exceptional service, quick turnaround, very reasonable prices. Mike was recommended to me (by my plumber) and I can happily recommend this garage to everyone. Keep up the good work, folks!"
Retirement of original owners
Last summer, Mike O'Sullivan Garage Services Limited announced that after 25 years of dedication, the original owners had decided to retire officially. A new team was set to take over the site from November 2025.
The liquidation is the latest blow to the UK car industry, following a series of closures this summer. Just last week, luxury garage and dealership Knowl Hill Performance & Luxury also appointed liquidators.
