Man City 3-1 Atletico: Marmoush stars in Seoul win

Manchester City beat Atletico Madrid 3-1 in Seoul to end their tour of Asia on a winning note. The Blues drew with Inter in Hong Kong but lost the subsequent penalty shootout, then beat a K-League All Star XI here on Wednesday in sweltering conditions that were too hot for football.

Match Report

The temperatures were down to a more bearable level on Sunday night for a friendly against Atletico, and Enzo Maresca's team again started brightly with Tijjani Reijnders and Savinho looking good. However, it was the Spanish side who took the lead when a corner wasn't cleared properly and Jorge Dominguez prodded in.

City stayed patient though and got their reward in the second half with two goals in a matter of minutes. Antoine Semenyo was the provider both times and Omar Marmoush scored them to see City home in a predictably fiery clash before Rayan Ait-Nouri added a late third.

Player Ratings

Donnarumma: A shaky kick out that nearly put City in trouble in their own third but was otherwise fine. 6

Nunes: Building up his fitness with some bombing runs down the right on the ball. 7

Dias: Struggled to keep the City backline in order with Atletico attackers getting past him. 6

Reis: Could be seen getting instructions during the first half break and was composed enough for the half he played. 6

Gvardiol: Played his team on for the Atletico goal but also produced that nice pass for Semenyo for City's second and pushed up well. 7

Kovacic: Plays passes through the lines like nobody else in the team although when it doesn't work it isn't pretty. 6

Reijnders: A barnstorming start that he couldn't keep up, albeit there was still plenty to like as he charged around midfield. 7

Foden: Quiet start but grew into it and even had some swagger in the second half that included a lovely chip over the top for Mubama. 7

Savinho: Very good in the first half taking on his man and getting the ball into the box, although it came to him less after the break. 7

Semenyo: A brilliant tour got even better with two assists for Marmoush. He took the risks and got his rewards. 9

Marmoush: Frustrated in the first half but was where he needed to be in the second to get his two goals. 7
