Liverpool's transfer window has been relatively quiet, but that is set to change as talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola press ahead. Pre-season has begun with victories over Sunderland and Wrexham, and the next fixture on the United States tour takes Liverpool to Chicago's Soldier Field to face Leeds United on Sunday.
New arrivals Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz have yet to make their debuts. Jacquet is nearing his first appearance after recovering from a shoulder injury, while Spain World Cup winner Munoz is close to completing his post-tournament rest period.
It is the pursuit of Barcola that continues to dominate the headlines, with other transfer developments strengthening Liverpool's negotiating position.

PSG are closing in on two wide players, a clear sign they are preparing for life without Barcola. They have reportedly opened talks with Ajax over a £51m deal for Mika Godts, while the Champions League holders are close to securing Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco for approximately £43m.
With Desire Doue, Ibrahim Maye and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia already on the books, the wide positions at PSG are becoming increasingly congested, and Barcola is the likely departure.
Liverpool have no intention of meeting PSG's £145m asking price, but the imminent arrivals of Godts and Akliouche should bolster their negotiating position. PSG would still generate a substantial profit on a player who joined from Lyon for less than £40m three years ago.
Inter ready to improve Jones offer
Inter Milan are prepared to increase their bid for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones. The Serie A champions have already secured John Stones this summer and are keen to add another England international, having seen an opening offer of around £21m rejected.
As reported by the ECHO, Inter are readying a £30m bid, still below Liverpool's £35m asking price for the 25-year-old, who has 12 months remaining on his contract. Intermediaries acting on behalf of Inter have made fresh contact with Liverpool and communicated the club's readiness to improve their offer.
Jones has made 228 appearances since his debut in January 2019 but has found consistent first-team opportunities hard to come by.
