A EuroMillions ticket purchased in the Wigan area for the January 2 draw remains unclaimed, with the winner sitting on a prize of £124,067. The winning numbers were 8, 27, 42, 44 and 46, with Lucky Stars 1 and 10, matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star.
National Lottery operator Allwyn has confirmed that the prize has not yet been claimed as of March 10. The ticketholder has until July 1 to come forward, otherwise the money will be allocated to National Lottery-funded projects.
This prize is part of a larger trend of unclaimed lottery winnings in the UK. A Lotto winner in Bexley, Greater London, has yet to claim over £10m from an October draw, with an April deadline. Additionally, two £1m prizes remain unclaimed in Gloucestershire and Dorset.
The £124,067 prize is overshadowed by a recent £181m EuroMillions jackpot won on March 10 by a UK ticket holder, the third largest lottery win in UK history. However, the location of that ticket has not been disclosed.
Players are reminded to check their tickets regularly and to sign them immediately. Any prizes claimed after the deadline are forfeited and added to the Good Causes fund.
