Marc Cucurella has kept his promise to have an image of Spain’s World Cup-winning coach Luis de la Fuente tattooed on his body.
Cucurella helped Spain to World Cup glory earlier this month and had promised to honour De la Fuente in unusual style. The former Chelsea left-back, who joined Real Madrid this summer, revealed the tribute on the underside of his arm. The design was revealed on Instagram on Tuesday, featuring a portrait of De la Fuente alongside the World Cup.
“Promise fulfilled,” Cucurella posted on his social media accounts alongside a picture of him having the tattoo done.

Cucurella completed his exit from Stamford Bridge during the tournament, as the Blues agreed a £51.8 million deal with Los Blancos. He returns to his homeland after five years away, having joined Brighton and Hove Albion from Getafe in 2021 before moving to Chelsea in 2023.
The Spanish won a second World Cup trophy in history in East Rutherford, New Jersey, defeating Argentina 1-0 at the MetLife Stadium. Ferran Torres notched the winner in extra time after a scrappy 90 minutes that was stop-start in part to the holders’ persistent fouling and gamesmanship.
