Arsenal's academy stars have travelled to Spain for their pre-season training camp, aiming to catch Mikel Arteta's eye. With William Saliba injured and seven first-team players still on holiday after deep World Cup runs, Arteta has filled his squad with a strong contingent of academy prospects. Josh Ogunnaike can play centre-back or left-back. He signed his first professional contract earlier this month and trained with the first team late last season.
Louie Copley started at right-back against MK Dons on Saturday, playing an hour. Originally a midfielder, he is now a versatile option and spent the second half of last season on loan at Crawley.
Ceadach O'Neill joined from Linfield two years ago and has two senior caps for Northern Ireland. He scored against MK Dons and is highly rated as a winger or striker.
Marli Salmon, still just 16, made his Champions League debut last season and started in the FA Cup. Arteta has shown trust in him despite his age.
Ismeal Kabia turns 21 at the end of the year and spent last season on loan at Shrewsbury. This pre-season is an audition for his future.
Brayden Clarke, a centre-back who has represented Wales at Under-19 level, has captained Arsenal's U21s and regularly trained with the first team. Regular senior football elsewhere could be next.

Andre Harriman-Annous caught Arteta's eye in pre-season last summer and led the line against Brighton in the Carabao Cup. Arteta said: "Since pre-season, when he was with us, I was very impressed with him. His mentality, how much he wants it. That’s the first ingredient. He’s desperate to achieve his dream."
