The Energetic Future Conference 2026 is set to take place in Hull, organised by the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Norwegian British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC). The event will bring a delegation of Norwegian business leaders to the Humber region to explore commercial opportunities.
North Sea themed conference
The conference theme, The North Sea: From Vision to Value, will focus on how the sea is becoming a shared industrial ecosystem connecting the UK and Norway through hydrogen trade, CO2 transport, offshore wind and maritime logistics. The event will examine how these elements interact across borders and industries, and what is needed to make the ecosystem work in practice.
A number of leading businesses have already confirmed their participation in the event.
Reception and site visits
Proceedings will begin with a reception at The Deep on Tuesday, November 17, hosted by the Deputy Norwegian Ambassador to the UK, Mariam Naqvi.
During the day, delegates will take part in site visits starting at Catch in North Lincolnshire, where presentations will be given by Phillips 66, VPI and Viking CCS. Delegates will then split into two groups to tour businesses on the north and south banks of the Humber.
The first group will remain in Lincolnshire to visit RWE for lunch, followed by a stop at Able UK, before returning to Hull in the afternoon. The second group will visit Saltend Chemicals Park and Ineos PX Group, and enjoy a guided tour of Hull Docks hosted by ABP. Selected guests will also receive an exclusive portside visit to Siemens Gamesa.
Conference day and sponsorship
The Energetic Future Conference 2026 will take place on the second day at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Hull, featuring a series of energy-focused panel discussions on the latest developments, opportunities and challenges facing the sector.
Organisers at the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce are encouraging businesses to explore sponsorship opportunities for the event. Companies can also attend the conference to expand their international networks and connect with prospective inward investors.
The Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce represents more than 2,000 companies across the Humber sub-region, with membership encompassing 76% of the top 100 companies in the sub-region with over 250 employees. The vast majority of members are small and medium-sized enterprises.
