EDF has announced it will relaunch its Winter Warmer Shop scheme this year, offering free air fryers and other energy-efficient appliances to eligible customers. The initiative is part of a £30 million winter support package aimed at helping the most vulnerable households.
The energy supplier's Customer Support Fund, managed in partnership with Charis, provides direct financial aid and debt relief through agreed payment plans. It can also supply energy-efficient appliances to replace old or broken models, helping reduce energy bills.
Eligible customers will be able to choose from a range of free goods, including air fryers and slow cookers, via the Winter Warmer Shop. However, customers cannot apply directly; EDF will identify eligible customers and contact them between November and February with a link to select their support.
Customers not contacted but who believe they qualify can apply for the Customer Support Fund online or join the Priority Services Register (PSR) for extra support during supply disruptions. EDF encourages those with essential medical equipment to join the PSR to ensure uninterrupted power.
