Wishaw FC Appoints Johnny Fallon as New Manager

Wishaw FC have appointed Johnny Fallon as their new manager, and the Beltane Park boss says it was always an ambition of his to lead the club. The former Bellshill Athletic manager will take charge for the upcoming season in the West of Scotland Fourth Division, with high hopes of bringing a positive atmosphere back to the Beltane.

Fallon replaces Brian Crawford, who left near the end of last season as the club struggled at the bottom of the table. Due to a restructure in the West of Scotland leagues, there was no relegation, so Wishaw will remain in the bottom tier.

Speaking to the club website, Fallon expressed his delight at returning to football after a five-month break due to other commitments. He said: "At the time of leaving Bellshill Athletic, it was a wrench, as everyone knows my passion for the game and the strong relationships I have with the club. I'm ready now for another challenge, and I am well aware of the task ahead, but I have no doubt in myself and my coaching team that we can build a strong dressing room and create a better feeling around the club. It has been feeling sorry for itself for the last few seasons, and that won't continue!"

Fallon added: "Less than eight years ago, Wishaw played in a Scottish Cup semi-final and were climbing the divisions with stronger crowds. We will look to replicate those days. I said many years ago that I would manage Wishaw one day, and here we are."

Fallon's appointment comes as two key players from last season, forward Matty Clarke and veteran striker Kris Jarvie, have decided to retire. A club statement thanked Clarke for his experience, leadership, and quality, noting his goals and assists. For Jarvie, the club said: "The man. The myth. The legend. Happy retirement to Kris Jarvie. It has been an absolute joy to have you with us this season!"
