A Liverpool car dealer has sold Kostas Tsimikas three vehicles worth around £140,000 combined, but the Range Rover, Mercedes and Audi were not for the defender himself. Jay McConville, who runs Solo Car Sales near Anfield, told the Liverpool Echo that the cars were for Tsimikas's girlfriend.
McConville said: 'I’ve sold Tsimikas three cars so far. They weren’t as expensive; they were more so for his girlfriend than for him. I didn’t have the Lamborghini he wanted at the time, but he picked up a £30,000 Range Rover, an Audi and a Mercedes A-Class.'
Family-Run Business Serving Stars
Solo Car Sales, a family-run business started in 2008, has become a go-to for Premier League stars. McConville has also dealt with boxers Callum and Liam Smith, Liverpool Women's Jenna Clark, and bought a Mercedes G63 G-Wagon from Bukayo Saka worth £142,000.
When asked about the most common cars famous customers want, McConville said: 'It sounds terrible to say that to be honest, but, you know, the footballers want the footballers' cars. They want Lamborghinis, [Ferraris, G-Wagons]. That’s kind of the textbook stuff. I can't help but see that a lot of the England stars, in particular, all have Lamborghinis. That's like a thing.'
Tsimikas's Liverpool Future Uncertain
Tsimikas, affectionately known as the 'Greek Scouser', may leave Liverpool this summer after a loan spell at Roma last season where he made just 11 starts. With Andy Robertson's departure opening a back-up spot, Milos Kerkez is expected to become first-choice left-back. Tsimikas has one year left on his contract and may seek more regular game time elsewhere.
