TV farmer Reuben Owen and his girlfriend Jess Ellwood have officially moved in together, but their new home already has a third resident: Fluff, a three-week-old lamb. Jess explained that Fluff's mother accidentally broke her leg shortly after birth, prompting the couple to take her in as a permanent pet. 'She's been in the house, sleeping on a blanket,' Jess said, adding that Fluff is 'quite precious' and will live with them forever.
Reuben, 22, described Fluff as 'our first pet, although she’s more like our child the way we look after her.' He noted that Fluff's face 'lights up' when she sees Jess and that she is starting to recognise her name. The couple, who met at a Young Farmers' convention in 2024 and went public that November, now live together at Jess's family farm in Brough Castle, Cumbria.
Reuben, star of Channel 5's Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, said moving in happened gradually: 'It started with a toothbrush, and now my pants are in the washing machine and my dinner is on the table.' He praised Jess's family for welcoming him 'with open arms.' Jess added that living together 'just made sense' and that they enjoy cosy nights in with fish and chips or Chinese takeaway.
The new series of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, airing from May 5, follows Reuben's machinery business and includes a hot air balloon ride to celebrate his father Clive's 70th birthday. Reuben credited his parents for instilling his work ethic and his grandfather for inspiring his passion for heavy machinery.
