Newcastle firm plans 120 new jobs as it targets doubling in size
Newcastle firm plans 120 new jobs in next three years

Around 120 new jobs are set to be created at Newcastle-based Everything Managed Group over the next three years, following rapid growth since its launch five years ago. The business services and technology company was incorporated in October 2021 to help customers manage their waste requirements.

Rapid expansion since launch

The group comprises six brands serving more than 40,000 UK customers from its offices on Newcastle's Grey Street. It owns commercial waste broker Waste Managed and has doubled its revenue to £60m over three years while growing its workforce to 180 employees.

The firm has now unveiled plans to double in size once more by 2029, with headcount targeted to reach 300. It has marked a significant milestone by welcoming its 40,000th customer, having grown its client base by 10,000 in just over two years.

Office expansion and refurbishment

Such swift growth in staffing levels has prompted the firm to expand its office footprint over the past 12 months, now occupying four floors of the city centre premises on Grey Street. The group has also recently completed a full refurbishment of the office space, spending more than £500,000 on the makeover.

The firm operates as part of national waste group Biffa, which employs more than 11,000 people across the UK and turned over more than £1.89bn in its most recent accounts. Senior figures have announced a recruitment drive to fill 20 current vacancies across IT, data, technology, sales and customer service, with further roles expected to be announced shortly.

Investment in young talent

The firm reports that its "incredible" growth has created a wealth of opportunities for local people to progress across numerous departments within the business. It says it is dedicated to providing early-career candidates with the chance to acquire valuable skills and build lasting careers within the group, channelling investment directly into young talent.

The group already has a number of apprentices on its books and intends to grow this figure in the months ahead. It has also teamed up with Newcastle College to support local art students by showcasing sustainability-themed artworks throughout the group's offices.

Future plans and technology investment

Looking to the future, alongside its investment in homegrown talent, the company plans to broaden its product range, assisting brands in maintaining compliance and managing their waste more efficiently. The group also intends to make substantial investment in its technology, with artificial intelligence poised to take on an increasingly prominent role in enhancing the customer experience.

Damon Smith, Group CEO, said: "Investing in early years talent as well as those looking to change careers is crucial to us as a company. We want to be the region's centre for excellence for those looking to start or change a career, and this growth is a big step towards that. We're not just hiring, we're building a training ground for talent, where anyone with the right attitude can succeed."

"With so many young people currently out of work, I encourage more employers to do what they can and invest in the incredible talent on their doorstep."
