Frontline workers across the UK may be eligible for discounts of up to £200 on energy and household bills through the Blue Light Card scheme, as energy prices are set to rise by up to £228 later this year. The discounts come at a time when households are already struggling with the cost of living crisis.
More than 30 professions qualify for Blue Light Card membership, including NHS staff, police officers, social care professionals, teachers, armed forces members, and retired fire service personnel with at least four years of service. Retired frontline staff can also register.
Exclusive deals include a £100 saving on a new boiler or £200 off AC installation from Heatable, a £130 reward and discounted broadband from EE, up to £200 off solar services from iHeat Solar Services, a £100 gift card from Utility Warehouse when bundling four services, and a £50 gift card from British Gas for new customers switching energy.
Steffie Brader, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Blue Light Card, said: “The rising cost of energy and other bills is a major concern for many homeowners. Many workers and retirees don't realise they're eligible – those in former frontline roles such as the NHS, social care, education, the police, fire and rescue and the armed forces can all apply.”
