Carol Welch, chief executive of AF Blakemore, has stepped down after nearly four years in the role, the Spar wholesaler has confirmed. Today (2 October 2026) is her last day.
Leadership transition
Peter Blakemore, executive chairman, will lead the business following Carol’s departure, working closely with the existing executive team, which remains unchanged.
A spokesperson for AF Blakemore said: “We thank Carol for her leadership and contribution to the business during a significant period of transformation and wish her every success for the future.”
