Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool this summer after nearly a decade on Merseyside, and reports suggest the Egyptian forward prefers to remain in Europe for his next move. Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce are reportedly prepared to offer him a three-year deal worth up to approximately £52 million.
Salah's Liverpool Legacy
The 33-year-old has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell at Liverpool since joining under Jurgen Klopp in June 2017, winning two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups. However, his form has dipped this season, leading manager Arne Slot to drop him for several matches. Salah announced in March that he would leave the club this summer.
Interest from Europe and Beyond
Salah has been strongly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, having been the subject of a £150 million bid from Al Ittihad in 2023, which Liverpool rejected. Yet, according to The Sun, his first choice is to stay in Europe despite the potential for higher earnings in Saudi Arabia.
Reports in Egypt claim that Fenerbahce, formerly managed by Jose Mourinho, have met with Salah's agent to present their project for the next three years. The Turkish club are planning to build around Salah as they aim for their first league title since 2014. The proposed deal includes a salary of £17.3 million per year, totalling around £52 million over three years.
Other Potential Destinations
Recent claims from Egypt suggested that Real Madrid are leading the race for Salah's signature, but the Spanish giants' transfer policy typically does not allow lucrative deals for players in the twilight of their careers. Italian clubs Roma, Juventus, and Inter Milan are also reportedly keen. A possible move to Inter Miami to link up with Lionel Messi has been mooted, though MLS salary cap restrictions could be a barrier.
As Salah prepares to leave Anfield, his next destination remains uncertain, but the winger appears determined to continue competing at a high level in Europe.
