Pep Guardiola is reportedly plotting the purchase of a £13.5 million property after leaving Manchester City. The legendary Spaniard is expected to depart the Premier League giants after a decade at the end of the season.
His stint in Manchester has been the longest managerial tenure of his career, and the 55-year-old is now aiming for a return home to Barcelona, according to The Sun. Guardiola is said to have his sights set on a lavish mansion in Catalonia that is situated just 100 yards away from the marital home he once shared with estranged wife Cristina Serra.
The new-build home - located in the luxurious Pedralbes neighbourhood - features a sizeable swimming pool, a gym, a jacuzzi and sumptuous sea views. It was reported the couple began divorce proceedings in 2024 after 30 years together.
Having initially moved to England with Guardiola in 2016, Cristina moved back to Barcelona three years later, with the football boss remaining in Deansgate CitySuites in central Manchester.
Just two games remain in Guardiola's City career with his expected exit yet to be confirmed by the club with the Premier League title race still alive. The Citizens must defeat Bournemouth on Tuesday night to extend the race to the final day of the season.
Ex-Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is the leading contender to replace Guardiola, who managed to dodge questions about his future after his side's FA Cup final victory against Chelsea this past weekend.
TNT Sports' Laura Woods asked the Spaniard: "Pep, there are so many rumours about you leaving. You're not, are you?" Appearing confused at first, Guardiola smiled before replying: "What rumours? Have a lovely evening!"
He then placed his microphone on the table and shook hands with the panel before walking away. Having secured the domestic cup double, City have confirmed that they'll celebrate the achievements in an open-top bus parade on Monday.
It is expected that news of Guardiola's City departure will be confirmed sometime on Sunday, in time for his stunning impact on English football to be celebrated 24 hours later.
The parade will reportedly begin at Manchester's Northern Quarter at 4pm before ending outside the Colin Bell Stand reception at the Etihad an hour later. In Guardiola's 10 years at the club, he's won a staggering 20 trophies, including six Premier League titles and achieving the historic Treble in the 2022/23 season.
While it remains to be seen what Guardiola's next step would be, he's previously indicated his interest in managing an international team.
