The show, created by Neil Forsyth, has earned an 86% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, with many viewers admitting to watching the entire series in one day. One viewer called it 'BAFTA-worthy viewing', while another praised its 'excellent storyline, pacing and acting'.
Critics have also been impressed, with a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Financial Times described it as 'outstanding TV', and The Times noted its 'glossy, big-budget drama filled with adrenaline'. Collider suggested it might be the most watchable crime drama Netflix releases this year.
The series is inspired by the 1990s criminal investigation depicted in 'The Betrayer: How An Undercover Unit Infiltrated the Global Drug Trade'. It follows ordinary customs officers who are trained to build new identities, or 'legends', to take down ruthless drug gangs from the inside.
