Manchester United are gearing up for a hectic transfer window as they lay the groundwork for the upcoming season. Several new additions are necessary to balance domestic aspirations with a return to Champions League football.
Ederson Transfer Update
Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has confirmed that no official offers have been received for midfielder Ederson, despite ongoing speculation linking the Brazilian with Manchester United. The 26-year-old has made 40 appearances for the Italian side this season and is entering the final year of his contract, which could make him a more affordable target. However, Percassi stated, "We have no official offers, only interest from other teams. I think it’s unlikely that teams will make a move before the end of the season."
Summer Wishlist Takes Shape
United plan to sign at least two midfielders this summer, with a potential third if Manuel Ugarte is sold. According to reports, the club aims to make a minimum of five new signings. Targets in midfield include Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, Brighton's Carlos Baleba, West Ham's Mateus Fernandes, and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton. Real Madrid's Aurelien Tchouameni is also a possibility following his fallout at the Bernabeu.
Additionally, United are looking to recruit a left-back to compete with Luke Shaw, a backup striker for Benjamin Sesko, and a goalkeeper to support Senne Lammens. The departure of Casemiro makes midfield reinforcement a top priority.
