Jet2 Named Best Airline at Routes Europe Awards for Third Consecutive Year
Jet2 Wins Best Airline Award for Third Year Running

Jet2, known for its promise of 'friendly low fares' and the iconic Jess Glynne song that greets passengers as they board, has been named the 'Best Airline' at the prestigious Routes Europe Awards. As the UK's third largest carrier, Jet2 flies to over 75 destinations and operates from major hubs including Leeds Bradford Airport, Manchester Airport, and London Gatwick.

This marks the third consecutive year the airline has taken home this impressive title. The awards celebrate excellence in aviation and recognize companies that consistently deliver for both consumers and the industry. The ceremony took place in Rimini, Italy, where the coveted Best Airline Award honors carriers that have led the way in generating economic growth in destinations.

The award praises airlines for delivering industry-leading customer service and working in partnership with airports and destinations to drive success. Judges noted Jet2's efforts in continued sustainable growth and putting customers first.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2, said: 'This is the third consecutive year that we have been named Best Airline at the prestigious Routes Europe Awards. This continued success reflects the tireless dedication that we put into delivering sustainable growth, industry-leading customer service, and long-term partnerships. Our colleagues, alongside our airport and destination partners, play a critical role in enabling us to repeatedly achieve recognition such as this, so I would like to pay tribute to them.'

He added: 'We continue to be recognised for being a strong, stable company with a long track record of being a consumer champion and we are looking ahead to a busy summer, with our exciting programme operating as normal. Just recently we demonstrated our industry leadership by becoming the first airline and tour operator to announce that we will not introduce surcharges, and with fantastic value to be enjoyed on our award-winning holidays right now, there has never been a better time to book with Jet2.'

Last month, Jet2 revealed it will not introduce surcharges on any booked flights or holidays to cover cost increases, such as jet fuel, assuring customers that the price they book is the price they will pay. This came as a relief to travellers amidst speculation that some airlines might have to introduce such fees to tackle rising costs. A surcharge would mean customers facing additional costs after booking, but Jet2 has removed the surcharge provision across all flights and holidays, even though the company has never previously applied them. As a result, Jet2 customers can lock in their flight or holiday price with total confidence.

The policy applies to all flights and holidays booked through any channel—online, via the mobile app, contact centre, or independent travel agent. However, it does not include tourist taxes, which holidaymakers pay to the hotel at the time of the trip and are paid directly to the accommodation provider, not the airline.

Jet2 has also launched 37 new routes for this summer, as well as three new destinations: La Palma, Palermo, and Samos. The airline also launched flights from London Gatwick in March this year, marking its 14th UK hub.
