A Lego enthusiast was left astonished after purchasing a box of bricks from a charity shop for £30, only to discover it was a complete Millennium Falcon set worth over £300.
The shopper, who shared his story online, said he spotted a Tupperware container filled with random Lego pieces at a local charity shop in early December. Inside was the instruction manual for a medium-sized Millennium Falcon set from the Lego Star Wars collection, which originally retailed for around £150. A quick online check revealed the same set now sells for more than £300 on Amazon.
Despite the high market value, the charity shop had priced the box at just £30. The buyer admitted that second-hand Lego purchases can be risky, as sets are often missing pieces or figures. However, when he began assembling the model at home, he found every single brick needed to complete the Millennium Falcon was included.
He wrote: 'I got it for £30, and all of the bits were there. The only things missing were the original box and the minifigures. Every single bit needed to build the actual set was there. Bargain.'
His post sparked envy among fellow Lego fans, with many saying they dream of finding such a bargain. One user commented: 'The minifigures are the expensive part, they might not make the particular character models and prints.' Another added: 'I think if you go to the Lego website you can order the minifigures.'
A third user shared a similar experience: 'I had the Lego roller coaster mixed in a big box of Lego for £30. Had no instructions, had to figure out what it was. 100% complete. Love Lego so much but can't afford to pay brand new, so I feel I'll never top this.'
