The 21-year-old is said to view United as his 'first pick' for a transfer, according to The i, as the Hammers look to raise funds following their relegation from the Premier League.
Fernandes joined West Ham from Southampton for £42m in 2025 and has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain. However, United are believed to be leading the race for his services as manager Michael Carrick seeks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of an increased fixture schedule next season, which includes Champions League football.
The futures of several high-earning players remain uncertain at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford's situation particularly noteworthy.
