Trump Staff Shut Down Livestream of Secret Crypto Speech

Donald Trump's aides intervened to halt a live video stream of his private cryptocurrency conference at Mar-a-Lago, ensuring his remarks remained behind closed doors. The US President was scheduled to address the largest investors in his 'memecoin,' $TRUMP, during an exclusive event that has drawn sharp criticism from Democratic figures.

Exclusive Access and VIP Treatment

Attendance at the conference was strictly limited to the top 297 holders of $TRUMP, with the top 29 investors invited to a VIP reception alongside Trump. Participants were also promised a swag bag containing Trump-branded merchandise, including a fragrance, a commemorative poster, and a 'Fight Fight Fight Red Beauty Watch' retailing online for $499.

Livestream Shutdown

Shortly before Trump's speech, a user named 'Cryptohawk' began streaming footage from the venue on X (formerly Twitter). After approximately 30 minutes, a woman appeared on camera, appearing puzzled as she scanned the room for the source of the stream. She then summoned a man in a suit and glasses, who approached the streamer and asked, 'Whose phone's this?' He informed the individual that all attendees had been instructed not to record the event and requested identification before the feed was cut.

The incident occurred as the song 'Blurred Lines' by Robin Thicke played in the background.

Financial Decline and Criticism

The conference comes amid a dramatic decline in the value of $TRUMP, which has plummeted by 92% over the past year. According to the Financial Times, the cost to attend the VIP reception has dropped by more than 80% compared to the same event in 2025. Last year, attendees needed to hold an average of $3,280,000 worth of the coin for access; this year, the average requirement fell to just $539,000.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended Trump's involvement, stating, 'President Trump's assets are in a trust managed by his children. There are no conflicts of interest.'

Additional attendees at the event included convicted rapist and former boxer Mike Tyson, as well as motivational speaker Tony Robbins.
