Top 10 Discontinued Treats Brits Miss Most: Calippo Shots Tops List

New data reveals that Brits collectively search for their favourite discontinued snacks over 48,000 times every month, underscoring the enduring appeal of nostalgic treats long after they vanish from supermarket shelves.

Chocolate Dominates the Rankings

The insolvency practitioners at Liquidation Centre analysed UK search data for household favourites that have been discontinued. Chocolate accounts for six of the top 10 most-missed snacks. The top spot goes to Calippo Shots, followed by Mars Delight, Milky Way Crispy Rolls, Frosties Sweets, Heinz Toast Toppers, Wonka Bars, Kellogg’s Ricicles, Bernard Matthews Turkey Drummers, Toffo, and Echo Bars.

Nostalgia vs. Commercial Viability

Richard Hunt, director of Liquidation Centre, commented: “Food is often tied to memories and personal experiences, which is why some products continue to capture people's attention years after they've disappeared. But, as consumer tastes evolve and costs increase, brands often have to prioritise products with the strongest long-term sales potential, even if it means retiring well-loved favourites.” He added that nostalgia can keep interest alive but does not always translate into enough demand to justify a permanent comeback.
