Prince Harry Plans UK Return for Invictus, Meghan Hesitant

Prince Harry is reportedly preparing for a return to the United Kingdom, but his wife Meghan Markle may not accompany him. The Duke of Sussex is expected to launch the one-year countdown to the Invictus Games, scheduled for summer 2027 in Birmingham. The event will feature 12 adaptive sports aimed at supporting the recovery of wounded veterans and inspiring resilience.

Approximately 550 wounded, injured, and sick current and former service personnel, along with their families, from 25 nations will gather in the West Midlands. Harry is anticipated to attend the launch, but Meghan’s participation remains uncertain.

Harry has expressed concerns about bringing his family to the UK due to security issues. He lost police protection after stepping back as a working royal in 2020 and moving to Montecito, California. Despite a recent court loss to reinstate his security, the Home Office is reviewing whether he should automatically receive protection during UK visits.

Family Visit Uncertain

Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not visited the UK since 2022. The prince has spoken about his desire for them to see King Charles, but no firm plans have been made. Meghan may be hesitant to face potential criticism or public snubs.

Some royal family members remain displeased after the revelations in Harry’s memoir, Spare. The couple risks being forgotten if they delay their visit further.
