Pride Cymru 2026: Parade Time, Route, and Parking

Pride Cymru will be heading to Cardiff city centre this weekend. The celebration kicks off with a special performance from Mika at Cardiff Castle on Friday, June 12, followed by the traditional parade through the city centre on Saturday, June 13.

Parade Time

The parade will start promptly at 11am. Organisers ask participants to arrive early to allow time for the team to get everyone in place. Pre-registered groups will be contacted in advance with arrival and starting point information.

Where It Starts

The parade begins on Westgate Street at 11am. It then moves onto Castle Street, High Street, Saint Mary Street, Mill Lane, The Hayes, John Street, Park Place, Greyfriars Road, Kingsway, Duke Street, and finishes back on Castle Street. This year’s route is approximately 1.4 miles long and is expected to take 1.5 to 2 hours to complete.

Road Closures

Roads will be closed during setup and the event, from 11am to 2.30pm. Key closures include:

  • Castle Street from Westgate Street junction, Duke Street, Kingsway to North Road junction: closed from 6am to midnight.
  • Cowbridge Road East from Cathedral Road junction: accessible for residents, buses, and taxis from 6am to 8am and 2.30pm to midnight.
  • Westgate Street, Quay Street, Guildhall Place, Golate, High Street, Saint Mary Street: closed from 8am to 2.30pm.
  • Wood Street, Central Square, Park Street, Havelock Street, Scott Road, Mill Lane, The Hayes, John Street, Queen Street, Park Place, Greyfriars Road (from Boulevard De Nantes to Kingsway): closed from 10am to 2pm.

Cardiff Bus will divert services to satellite points (Churchill Way for east, Greyfriars Road for north, Tudor Street for west) from 11am to 1.15pm. The Bus Interchange remains open via Tudor Street/Wood Street.

Where to Park

No parking at Cardiff Castle. Public car parks available at the Civic Centre and Sophia Gardens. From M4 Junction 32, head south on A470 towards city centre and follow signage. City centre car parks include St David’s Shopping Centre, John Lewis, Capitol Shopping Centre, and NCP (Adam Street, Dumfries Place, Greyfriars Road).
