Holly Willoughby has revealed she kept a family death from her three children, admitting their kitten Teddy met what she called a "sticky end." The former This Morning star made the confession while speaking to Canadian comedian and The Duchess star Katherine Ryan on her new lifestyle and cookery show, Holly Willoughby Together, on YouTube.
Holly and Katherine compared photos from their phone galleries, including a pregnancy snap of Holly. Holly, a mum-of-three to Chester, Belle, and Harry, explained she was pregnant with Chester at the time and said she only showed the photo to Katherine because she was "only wearing a pair of knickers."
Teddy's fate kept from the children
Scrolling through her gallery, Holly stopped at "the first one that isn't a child" - a photo of a kitten. She said: "Right, here's the first one that isn't a child, which looks really cute. But actually, this was Teddy, I know. Teddy died. Yeah, Teddy died. Teddy was a little kitten that came along and p****d over everything."
"And then Teddy got run over when he was really little. But I don't think the kids know that. I think the kids still think that Teddy went to go and live with his mum. He's only little. So Teddy came to a bit of a sticky end. So that was a bit of a sad one."
A new chapter for Holly
Holly Willoughby Together represents a fresh start for the presenter, who left This Morning in October 2023. She teased the new show on social media last month with its new pink and red branding.
She said: "I'm so proud of the work all the team who make Together have put into this exciting new project. We've had a lot of fun developing it and look forward to seeing what you think."
Other stars due to feature on the series include Stanley Tucci, Emma Bunton, All Saints' Nicole Appleton, and Joanne McNally, with topics also including beauty, health, advice and fashion.
Wylde Moon roots
The show follows the launch of her lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon, in 2021. At the time, Holly said: "I invite you to come on in and join the journey. Let’s discover together, learn together, laugh together. Let’s celebrate and empower those around us. Let’s find out what we love."
Speaking further about the project on her website, Holly, who also starred in Celebrity Juice, Celebrity Bear Hunt and Dancing on Ice, said: "In creating Wylde Moon for you, I’ve filled a need in me. I’d lost a part of who I was and that rediscovery has led me here, to a whole new place of beauty and power."
Holly is on Michael McIntyre's Big Show tonight (Saturday, August 1) on BBC One, from 7.25pm to 8.25pm.
