A heroic husky has been hailed a saviour after rescuing seven newborn kittens who were left to die in a cardboard box in the woods in Menlo, Georgia. Whitney Braley, 30, said her service dog Banner became extremely distressed and kept pulling on her dress earlier this month, leading her to the abandoned box.
When Braley opened the box, Banner dived in and pulled out a tiny white kitten. To Braley's shock, six more barely alive kittens were inside. The newborns, estimated to be only a day old, were freezing and not making any sounds. Braley believes they would have died if not for Banner's intervention.
After bringing the kittens home, Banner refused to leave their side, insisting on cleaning, cuddling, and napping with them as if she were their mother. Braley, a mother of three, said Banner had been acting strangely all morning, not listening to commands, which was unlike her well-behaved nature.
Braley has decided to care for all seven kittens until they are old enough to be adopted. She expressed disgust at the cruelty of abandoning the animals, calling Banner a true hero. Banner, who has her own Instagram account with over 10,000 followers, continues to keep a loving eye on her 'babies'.
