Tesco has issued an urgent recall of three pasta salad products due to potential salmonella contamination. The supermarket chain is advising customers not to consume the affected items and to return them to any store for a full refund, no receipt required.
The recall follows routine testing that detected the possible presence of salmonella in specific date codes of Tesco's Feta & Semi Dried Tomato Pasta, Chicken & Chorizo Pasta, and another pasta salad product. The supermarket has apologised for any inconvenience and stressed that food safety is a top priority.
Salmonella infection can cause symptoms such as diarrhoea, fever, and abdominal cramps, typically developing 12 to 72 hours after exposure. The illness usually lasts four to seven days, but vulnerable groups—including the elderly, young children, and those with weakened immune systems—may face severe complications requiring hospital care.
Tesco has confirmed that no other products are affected by the recall. Customers with concerns are encouraged to contact Tesco customer services for further information.
