The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued an urgent recall for several styles of Boden Girls Wide Leg Trousers due to a risk of cuts. The affected trousers, sold between July 1 and October 31 last year, feature cracked poppers at the waist that can develop sharp edges, posing a laceration hazard to fingers or legs during use.
Products Affected
The recall applies to trousers with product codes G5531 and G4865, available in sizes 2-3 years, 3-4 years, 4-5 years, 5-6 years, and 7-8 years. Specific PO numbers include G5531 MDN (660046, 660050, 660604), G5531 DDN (662354, 662355), G5531 PNK (663497), G4865 MDN (661419, 662938), and G4865 DEN (663091).
Safety Warning
The OPSS stated: "The products present a risk of cuts because there may be cracked poppers at the waist. These cracked poppers may develop sharp edges, causing cuts to fingers or legs during use. The products do not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."
What to Do
Consumers are urged to stop using the trousers immediately and return them to Boden for a full refund. Boden has set up a dedicated returns hub for processing refunds. If the trousers were purchased as a gift, the recipient should contact Boden's customer service team.
Boden expressed regret for the inconvenience, stating: "We take the safety of our products very seriously. It has recently come to our attention that the above products have fallen below our strict technical and safety standards."
How to Identify Affected Items
Customers can locate the PO number at the top of the care label inside the trousers to determine if their purchase is affected. Boden recommends checking immediately and returning any recalled products.
For further assistance, customers can visit Boden's website or contact their customer service team. The company apologised for any inconvenience and assured customers of a full refund.
