Tyrrells' limited-edition Wensleydale & Cranberry crisps have been named the standout Christmas flavour of the season, beating offerings from Walkers and Pringles. The festive snack, inspired by the classic British cheeseboard pairing, combines crumbly Wensleydale with sweetened dried cranberries.
A Festive Twist on a Classic Pairing
The crisps deliver a creamy, mildly sharp cheese flavour first, followed by a tart, slightly sweet fruity kick from the cranberry powder. Packaged in Wallace & Gromit branding as part of a promotional collaboration with Aardman, the crisps carry the tagline "A truly crackin' combination!" – a nod to Wallace's well-known love of Wensleydale cheese.
Available in 135g sharing bags, the crisps are priced at £2.75 and are rolling out across Waitrose, Morrisons, Co-op and Tesco this autumn.
Hand-Cooked and Suitable for Vegetarians
Cooked by hand in sunflower oil with the skins left on, the crisps offer Tyrrells' trademark thick-cut texture. They are suitable for vegetarians and are gluten-free, containing no artificial flavours, colours, or added MSG. However, they do contain milk and whey powders derived from real cheese.
The flavour is described as the ideal choice to impress guests at Christmas gatherings, though the crisps are so moreish they may be finished before anyone else gets a look in.
