Tesco's new Finest Dine In British Beef Cheeseburger Kit offers a convenient alternative to firing up the barbecue, with everything needed to make two juicy quarter pounders.
The kit includes two beef burgers, soft brioche style rolls, cheese melts made with extra mature cheddar, crispy onions, and a rich tomato relish. The only addition made during a taste test was some lettuce, which is not essential but was available in the fridge.
The burger is described as tasty, with the relish and onions adding extra flavour along with the rich cheese. Priced at £7.50, the kit is considered reasonable given the convenience of having all components in one box.
Meal Deal Offers More Value
The kit is part of Tesco's Finest Dine In meal deal, which for £15 with a Clubcard includes the kit, a side, a dessert, and a drink. In the test, two burger kits were paired with Rosemary & Parmesan Fries and Triple Cooked Chips, both of which were enjoyed.
Dessert options include Sticky Toffee Pudding, Salted Caramel Profiteroles, Coffee & Amaretto Tiramisu, Raspberry, and new Passion Fruit & Pistachio Tarts. The chosen Stem Ginger & Lemon Possets were described as a refreshing and tangy dessert suitable for warmer weather.
Drink choices in the meal deal range from Tesco Finest Cinsault Rose, Malbec, and Wairau Cove Sauvignon Blanc to soft drinks like a four-pack of 250ml Coca Cola bottles or San Pellegrino Limonata Organic.
Other Meal Deal Options
The meal deal also offers other mains, including Finest Carbonara, Lasagne Al Forno, 30-Day Matured British Ranch Steaks With Wild Garlic Butter, and Slow Cooked Steak Pie. New additions alongside the burger kit are Salmon En Croute and Beef Brisket with a Bordelaise Jus.
The spring/summer Dine In menu launched in June, and the Cheeseburger Kit is available in Express stores, which offer a Finest Dine In Meal Deal including a main, a side, and a dessert for £10 with a Clubcard.
Tesco's Finest range has celebrated three consecutive years of double-digit growth. Last year, the boost in sales was partly attributed to a home-dining boom, with shoppers opting for premium meals at home due to rising restaurant costs. The range first launched in 1998 as the UK's first supermarket premium own brand and underwent a major relaunch in 2013.
