Tesco Shoppers Urged to Use Clubcard Tip to Save Hours

Tesco shoppers who prefer to buy their goods in-store rather than online are being urged to make use of a simple tip that could save them 'hours'. Like many others, Tesco - which is the largest supermarket in the UK - allows shoppers to use a self-scan machine when doing their shop.

However, the supermarket giant also allows people to upload their online shopping list to the handset. It then tells them where the item is and if it is in stock.

Tip from Couponkiduk

The tip was highlighted by Jordon Cox, also known as the Couponkiduk on social media. He says that the tip 'makes shopping a hell of a lot easier' and can 'save you hours' at the supermarket.

"Before you ever go shopping at Tesco and use one of these scanners, add all your items into your online shopping list, and look what happens to the scanner. It tells you where all your items are in which aisle, and which ones are out of stock, which makes shopping a hell of a lot easier," he said.

"If you never shop online, and you add your weekly shop to your online basket - and just leave it in there without buying - it'll be there every time you shop," he continued.

Reactions from Shoppers

The tip was generally met favourably by Jordon's followers. "This would save me hours in there!" said one person, while another added: "Oooh that's better idea, instead of us wandering around."

"Wow this is great thanks Jordon," said another, while one said: "Love this Jordon Cox."

However, not everyone was on board. "This should be able to work inside the app directly and it should know which store your near," said one. Another said: "But surely this is not in the best interests of the supermarkets. They would prefer you to spend hours wandering the aisles and impulse buying."

"If you've gone to that trouble, why not just click deliver?" asked one shopper, while another said simply: "When it works." One even went so far as to say: "Asda's scan and go is a far better system."
