Purpose and availability

The Doorbell Drops promotion is aimed at helping shoppers who need to quickly stock up when unexpected guests turn up. Merve Basci, general manager at Uber Eats, said the partnership with Tesco could help customers avoid the worry of being caught without enough food to serve visitors. Suzanne Quinn, customer director at Tesco, said the Doorbell Deals range was designed for occasions when plans change or guests arrive unexpectedly, giving customers access to food and hosting essentials quickly.

The deal follows Tesco's full launch on Uber Eats last month after a trial. It also builds on Tesco's Whoosh rapid delivery service, which offers grocery deliveries in as little as 20 minutes from around 1,800 Tesco stores. The half-price Doorbell Drops offers are available through the Tesco hub on Uber Eats from September 14 to September 20.
