Tesco customers have three days left to take advantage of a fuel promotion that offers 8p off per litre, with a maximum saving of £8 per tank. The deal requires a minimum in-store spend of £60 by Sunday, October 18, to receive the coupon on their receipt.
Fuel prices reach record high
The offer comes as fuel prices have surged in recent months due to global market turmoil linked to the US-Israeli conflict with Iran and Russia's ongoing war in Ukraine. Prices reached £2 a litre for the first time, surpassing the previous record of 199.09p set in June 2022 after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Tesco, which operates around 600 petrol stations across the UK, is offering the discount on petrol and diesel. The maximum saving is £8 per tank, which is £2 less than when the promotion last ran in August. Most drivers, who typically fill up between 35 and 45 litres, can expect to save between £2.80 and £3.60.
How to redeem the coupon
Shoppers must spend £60 or more in-store by Sunday, October 18, to receive the coupon with their receipt. The coupon can then be redeemed until Sunday, October 25 by scanning it at the petrol station till. Payment must be made in person at the counter, so the voucher cannot be used at pay-at-pump facilities.
Only one coupon may be used per transaction, and customers must spend more than £1 on fuel. The offer excludes the Isle of Man, Tesco Express stores where Esso fuel is sold, unmanned petrol stations, and pay-at-pump services. The coupon is valid at participating Tesco-branded forecourts across Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
What counts towards the £60 spend
Qualifying purchases must be made in-store, so online grocery orders, Click & Collect, and Whoosh orders do not earn the coupon. Excluded items include lottery products, e-top-ups, savings stamps, postage stamps, carrier bags, prescription medicines, infant milk formula, and purchases at cafés, tobacco kiosks, opticians, phone stores, concessions, Travel Money, and Tesco Bank.
Shoppers are advised to use Tesco's store finder to locate a Tesco Petrol Filling Station and confirm a staffed kiosk will be open during their visit. Even with this deal, Tesco may not offer the cheapest fuel in every area, so drivers can use free tools such as PetrolPrices.com to find the most competitively priced stations nearby.
