Tesco has confirmed a new Clubcard benefit, with millions of UK drivers able to secure extra Clubcard points as part of a new EV partnership. Clubcard holders will now be able to pick up points for topping up their electric car batteries at hundreds of Be.EV sites across the country.
How the new Clubcard scheme works
Be.EV operates more than 2,500 charging bays across more than 680 sites nationwide, with some plugs fitted at a number of Tesco Express sites. Under the new partnership, motorists can earn one Clubcard point for every £1 they spend at any Be.EV electric vehicle charger. These points can then be used to secure discounts in store or at over 100 rewards partners.

Tesco Group Membership Loyalty Director, Shama Wilson, said: “We are always looking for new ways for Clubcard members to be able to collect Clubcard points and are delighted to announce our new partnership with Be.EV, allowing Clubcard members to collect points when they charge their vehicles at thousands of charging bays across the UK.”
“With more and more Tesco shoppers opting for electric vehicles, we are sure that many of our customers will be excited by this latest addition to Clubcard.”
How drivers can start earning
There are now over two million electric cars registered in the UK, with the number of EVs on the road growing all the time. To get started, drivers can open the Be.EV app, sign in and create an account. From there, individuals will need to link their Clubcard, where points will then be collected automatically.
Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said the move would make owning an electric vehicle “feel effortless” for many drivers. He explained: “This is about making the switch to electric genuinely worth it. Drivers are already charging on these journeys, but now every charge means they can collect Clubcard points which they can spend on their weekly shop or a day out.”

Other supermarket reward schemes
Tesco is not the only store offering these discounts, with drivers using Sainsbury’s Smart Charge plugs able to secure additional Nectar points. Drivers can also earn five Morrisons More points for every £1 spent on charging at Motor Fuel Group (MFG) EV plugs.
